At least six cars and two homes in Des Plaines were struck with blue and yellow paintballs this week, causing broken windows and $150 in damages, authorities said.
Between Jan. 29 and Jan. 30, five residents told police their cars and homes were hit by blue and yellow paintball pellets, according to reports. One person told police he believed the acts were random and youth-related while two others named people they said may be involved, police reports state.
One woman told police she saw a dark car driving away after her home, though she couldn’t see the license plate or give specifics on the vehicle.
The paintballs were found on the 2200 block of Douglas Avenue, 1300 block of Margret Street, 1100 block of South Sixth Avenue, 50th block of Fletcher Drive and the 2300 block of Westview Drive.
Des Plaines Police are investigating.
