On Saturday, March 3rd, the Village Presbyterian Church in Northbrook will be hosting its 56th Annual Pancake Festival. Last year, more than 700 people attended. The festival, held in the church’s Westminster Hall, will kick off at 7:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Award-winning storyteller Tom Clark will be performing at 12:30 p.m.
This year, the pancake festival will benefit Bernie’s Book Bank, a Chicagoland non-profit focused on increasing book ownership among at-risk children. Bernie’s Book Bank facilitates the collection, processing, and distribution of gently used and new children’s books. Currently, Bernie’s Book Bank serves more than 35,000 at-risk infants, toddlers, and school-aged children in Chicagoland through the distribution of 13,000 books each week. In 2012, Bernie’s Book Bank will distribute 600,000 books at area at-risk children.
Tickets are available at the door, $8 for Adults, $4 for Children 5-12, and free for children under 5.
