When Deerfield native Jeremiah Green isn’t bouncing between his two roles as President of Corky’s Catering and Owner of Cork Special Events, you’ll find him holed up in third office……an art studio he rents in the Zhou B Art Center on 35th Street, about ½ mile west of U.S. Cellular Field.

Green is one of the tenants in this warehouse-looking building that houses more than 30 local up-and-coming artists, a café and even a children’s dance studio.

It’s also at the Zhou B Art Center were Green will gather February 26 with some of his closest artist friends, along with cutting edge Chicago clothier Akira, for a benefit entitled heART of the City benefitting the Community Arts Program of Jane Addams Hull House Association.

Corky's will provide catering complimentary for the event as Green is a member of the Hull House Associate Board of Directors.

The upper story of the Zhou B Art Center will be transformed into a giant, interactive art and fashion experience where participants can witness music-driven fashion shows featuring larger-than-life projections of children’s art, then dance, drink and dine in spacious comfort while art is created before their eyes—or by their own hand–as artists invite participants into the process of painting, sculpting and other art forms.

Demonstrating artists will include some of Chicago’s best-known and provocative talents. The evening will be highlighted by Akira, Chicago’s very-own avant garde fashion source, which will perform a fashion show against a stunning backdrop of projected imagery, lights and music. Akira will be showing styles from Bohemian Chic to Untamed Prints, shoes, accessories and styles for men and women.

Green is a member of the Hull House Associate Board and has had a heavy hand in putting together this one-of-a-kind charity event, where partygoers will get to paint alongside a slew of talented Chicago artists while participants will further enjoy a music-driven Akira fashion show featuring larger-than-life projections of children’s art. Green has also secured his friend, Fox 32’s Darlene Hill, to serve as event emcee.

Jane Addams Hull House Association provides care and services to neighbors in need, annually serving more than 60,000 individuals, families and community members through more than 50 programs at over 40 sites.
