Wolves win state football title
Prairie Ridge won the Class 6A title with a 35-14 victory over Peoria Richwoods Saturday at Memorial Stadium in Champaign.
The game was tight in the first half as both teams headed to the locker room with a 7-7 tie. Connor Greenwald’s 1-yard run with 1 minute, 49 seconds left in the half finally put the Wolves on the board.
But they exploded for 21-third quarter points, including a 15-yard fumble recovery score by Erik Odden for a TD.
