On the First Friday of each month, Lakeside Legacy hosts a visual and performing artist reception from 5-7:30 p.m., offering the community an opportunity to enjoy art, music, tasty treats and refreshments. Stop by on your way home or on your way out for the evening; it’s an interesting and entertaining way to end your week and start your weekend!
October 1st is the date for our opening First Friday of the fall. Lakeside will proudly showcase Betty Schmidt and Woodstock Group: 9 female artists who present paintings in oil and watercolor. Visit www.bettyschmidt.com to preview the artwork.
November 5th is the date of the next fall First Friday event. Chicago area veterans will be presenting Veterans Art: Stories and Images in the Dole gallery, and resident artist Jeanine Hill-Soldner will be presenting her “Portraits of American Veterans Project II”. Visit Jeanine’s website at www.soldnerfineart.com.
September and December do not have First Fridays this year, however, the months will still be featuring artwork for people to come and enjoy! The Northwest Area Arts Council will be presenting work in the Dole Gallery while Lakeside’s own Steve Ponio will showcase his work in the Sage. Look up Steve’s work at www.steveponio.blogspot.com. During the month of December, Ave Madiol Veneklasen will be showcasing an exhibit featuring landscapes, shoes, and gowns in both the Sage and Dole galleries.
