On Nov. 27, 2011, Troop 140 (St. Mary Parish Buffalo Grove) will honor six Life scouts who have earned the highest Boy Scout rank possible, the rank of Eagle Scout! The six young men are: Joseph Salvesen (Buffalo Grove), Nicholas Sorgani (Buffalo Grove), Michael Powers (Long Grove), Austin Peters (Deerfield), Nicholas DesJarlais (Buffalo Grove), and Maxwell Liebl (Long Grove).
These scouts have worked many years volunteering their time to community service while advancing in leadership and life skills and achieving outdoor training, emergency preparedness, and skill competency.
Only 4% of Boy Scouts nationwide earn the esteem rank of Eagle Scout. Each scout must earn a minimum of 21 Merit Badges, successfully plan and execute a service project for a non-profit organization, hold different leadership positions within the troop, and pass an Eagle Board of Review.
These six young men are our future leaders of tomorrow. Please join their fellow scouts, leaders, and parents from Troop 140 in congratulating them on earning the rank of Eagle Scout!
