On Monday August 30, 2010, The Illinois Department of Transportation/Division of Traffic Safety recognized 10 Buffalo Grove Police officers.  The awards program was developed to provide a continuing recognition system for those officers that excel in arresting impaired drivers. The awards, in the form of a lapel pin, a letter of appreciation from the Illinois Department of Transportation and a certificate of achievement, are presented to police officers who have excelled in the area of DUI enforcement.  Combined the ten officer have arrested 875 DUI drivers.  In addition two officers were recognized with the IDOT speed enforcement award.
