A Chicago couple, who married in Buffalo Grove, will be featured on the reality show “Four Weddings” this week as she competes for a dream honeymoon.

Michelle Santos and Kunal Ganti tied the knot last October at Saint Mary Church in Buffalo Grove with TLC’s cameras in tow.

TLC filmed the ceremony and her wedding for their show “Four Weddings” where four brides go to each other’s weddings and rate them. The couple with the highest rated wedding wins a honeymoon vacation.

Santos received an e-mail after attending a wedding show where producers asked her if she wanted to participate in the show. She decided to go for it and filled out an application.

After several months of back-and-forth e-mails, a producer called her a few weeks before her wedding to let her know she was in.

Santos and her family have attended the Buffalo Grove church, where Ganti’s mother was also a parishioner.

Santos embraced her Filipino heritage and included the traditional cord and veil ceremony. The wedding carried a “School of Rock” theme that combined her teaching background and her fiance’s band, which performed at the ceremony, according to TLC.

“Our wedding day was, most certainly, the best day of our lives thus far, and we wouldn’t have been able to have had such a flawless and blessed ceremony without the love and attentiveness of the most amazing Saint Mary staff,” Santos said in an e-mail. “We’re looking forward to seeing the church and all the great work that went into making our day so very special on the show.”

She competes against other area brides. One had a wedding at a penthouse in downtown Chicago, one held an outdoor ceremony at a country club and the other had a hot-pink-themed country club wedding.

At the end of each episode, the winner is revealed when one bride sees her groom step out of a limo holding a prize card with the destination of their dream honeymoon.

The show airs at 9 p.m. Jan. 27 on TLC.
