Man passes out in Dominick’s trying to get home from Bears game

A Wauconda man was found passed out in a Buffalo Grove grocery store early Monday morning, after allegedly trying to make his way home from Sunday’s Bear’s game.

The 36-year-old man was found at 2:25 a.m. Dec. 19 at Dominick’s, 1160 Lake Cook Road, passed out between two entrance doors, according to a police report.

Dominick’s staff called police. When police arrived, the man told them he had gone to the Bears game with a friend and then had come back to the friend’s house. He then decided to walk to his home on the 400 block of Clearview Avenue in Wauconda – more than 13 miles away.

Realizing he could not make the long journey, he laid down in the Dominick’s, according to police reports.

Police brought him back to the Buffalo Grove police station, called him a cab, and contacted his wife to let her know he was on his way.
