A flight back in time
From a Ford Tri-Motor to an ultralight that looked more like a tricycle, airplanes of all makes and models flocked June 5 and 6 to Clow International Airport in Bolingbrook for the 11th annual Cavalcade of Planes.
The belle of the ball was the Experimental Aircraft Association's vintage Ford Tri-Motor mail plane, making its first appearance at Clow in more than 20 years. Other crowd pleasers were the airport's squadron of WWI, WWII and early jet fighters, including a pair of trainers that flew in formation over the crowd.
Other activities included plane rides, parachute club jumps, military displays, music and a car show.
