Area Students Send Sweet Messages to Area Seniors

Each year The Promenade Bolingbrook Shopping Center rewards area schools through their Shopping 4 Students program, a program that encourages students and their families to give back to their community through volunteering in a variety ways.

One of the opportunities presented to students just a few weeks ago was to create Valentines Day cards for area residents living in Senior Living Communities. Students embraced the opportunity and responded with over 2,000 hand-made cards!

“We were pleasantly surprised and emotionally touched by the student’s response to our Valentine’s Day for Seniors card opportunity,” said Kris Kuchler, director of marketing at The Promenade. “We are very proud to be apart of such a heartwarming event to give back to area residents” she concluded.

Executive management at The Promenade Bolingbrook will spread Cupids-joy of the heartwarming holiday by personally delivering the cards to numerous senior living campuses throughout the area. Some heartwarming messages include:
By Amber, age 8, Oak View School – “Roses are Red, Violets are Blue sugar is sweet and so are you!”
By Jacob , age 7, Brooks Middle School – “ Hope you have an awesome Valentine’s Day!”
By Zack , age 10, Tibbott Elementary – “ Sending you well wishes for a great Valentine’s Day. Hope you have a Sweet Day. Thinking of you. Your Valentine.”
