Bolingbrook coach Anthony Smith was named one of five finalists this week for Naismith high school girls coach of the year.
Smith has coached No. 1 Bolingbrook to a 24-1 record this season and a spot in next week’s Class 4A sectional semifinals. The Raiders have won three consecutive Class 4A titles and played in six 4A championship games in a row since Smith’s arrival in 2001-02.
Bolingbrook has eight Division I-bound seniors on its roster this season. Smith is the fifth local person to be nominated for a Naismith award this week.
