A new recovery home for people in the Will County Drug Court Program will be named in honor of one of the program’s first graduates.
Miller Taylor, 67, completed the program a decade ago after struggling with a cocaine addiction and has volunteered each week mentoring others in the program who are battling addictions.
Taylor was in the first group of participants to enter the program when it began in 1999 and graduated a year later.
The recovery home will house five male participants who have completed six months of counseling and treatment programs and have been clean for six months.
Residents are closely monitored and subject to random drug tests multiple times each week. Those who test positive for drug use will be removed from the home immediately.
The house was funded with fees paid to the court by those who have been convicted of crimes in Will County.
