Bond was set at $10,000 Wednesday for a 22-year-old Barrington man charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a 15-year-old girl he “met” on a social networking site, Police Chief Jerry Libit said.
Adam M. Bopp, of the 200 block of West Lincoln Avenue, is accused of abusing the girl at his house on several occasions since July, about a year after the two “met” on the MySpace Web site.
The girl and her family were issued an order of protection last week that prohibits Bopp from having any contact with them, Libit said.
The charge against Bopp was elevated to aggravated criminal sexual abuse because there is more than a five-year age difference between Bopp and the girl, he said.
