Some 44 Aurora University men's soccer players and coaches  volunteered at Feed My Starving Children's East Aurora facility Aug. 24.

FMSC is a Christian organization committed to feeding God's starving children hungry in body and spirit.

AU Coach Peter Watkins said the AU delegation, with 15 other volunteers from the public, in two hours packed 106 boxes of food--enough to feed 59 kids for a year.

The AU crew's shift, Watkins said, packed 1.8 boxes per person. Most groups average 1.1 boxes packed per person.

"It was a great experience," Watkins reported, "and our players felt it was important to take time out during preseason for community service."
