A prostitution sting operation in Aurora resulted in the arrests of nine men on solicitation and other charges on Wednesday, police said.
The arrests included investigators from the department’s Special Operations Group and Community Oriented Policing Unit.
“The operation was aimed at curbing street level prostitution complaints,” Chief Gregory Thomas said in a news release.
The men were arrested at an unspecified Aurora location after allegedly offering an undercover female police officer money in exchange for sex. Police said the location was not disclosed in order to not affect future sting operations.
Two of the men were also charged with drug offenses while a third had an outstanding warrant. In addition, five men had vehicles towed and impounded.
According to police, the arrests included seven Aurora men: Juan M. Aceves, 19, 1200 block of Jericho Rd.; Michael Hubbard, 51, and Anthony L. Riddick, 35, both of the 600 block of South River St.; Pascual Barrerra, 36, 300 block of South Ave.; Marvin O. Dean, 42, 800 block of Douglas Ave.; Dion A. Squalls, 38, 500 block of South LaSalle St.; and Josephus Turner, 59, 500 block of California Ave.
Also arrested were Vincent E. Codero, a 57-year-old Harwood Heights man, and Gerald M. Guydon, 51, of Calumet City, police said.
Aceves was also charged with unlawful possession of cannabis and possession with intent to deliver. Codero was charged with misdemeanor unlawful possession of cannabis. Dean was served with an outstanding arrest warrant for domestic battery, police said.
