TribLocal High School Player of the Month
The High School Player of The Month contest is underway featuring deserving student athletes from local high schools. The Illinois Bone and Joint Institute and TribLocal have teamed up to recognize student athletes and make donations to local schools. Contest sponsor Illinois Bone and Joint Institute will make a monetary donation to the winner’s school and the athlete will be honored with a plaque. The contest will end at 9 p.m November 24.

The Panthers took third place at Lake Forest’s invitational and Megan French earned all-tournament honors after totaling 56 kills, 32 digs and fives.

Nick McCall
Nick McCall placed 5th overall and his last three holes put the school on top of the team standings at the Class 1a state championship. He birdied the par-5, 16th hole with a clutch 8 footer. He then made a par-4 from a fairway bunker on the 17th hole. On the 18th hole McCall played it perfectly and nearly rolled in a 25 foot birdie putt.

Trevor Ponticelli
Co-Captain Trevor Ponticelli caught a 43 yard pass flat on his back and then returned an interception 62 yards for a score in the fourth quarter to seal a victory over Niles North. Against Maine West he had 6 catches for 128 yards.

New Trier quarterback Jack Nykaza completed 12 of 18 passes for 157 yards and two touchdowns and had 13 carries for 101 yards and an additional score in the Trevians victory over Niles. Against Evanston, Nykaza had 19 carries for 114 yards and a touchdown and was 10 of 13 passing for 102 yards and a TD.

Branden McGarrity netted 3 goals in win over Schurz and in the class 3a regional semifinal match against Steinmetz he scored two goals. In the playoffs he scored twice against Steinmetz to give him 25 on the season setting the single-season school scoring record

Malcolm Weaver threw for 204 yards and four touchdowns in the team's win over Fenwick and with the QB injured the team's unbeaten streak was nearly broken by Brother Rice.
