TribLocal High School Player of the Month

The TribLocal School Player of the Month contest is underway featuring deserving student athletes from local high schools. Larry Roesch Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and TribLocal have teamed up to recognize student athletes and make donations to local schools. Your votes determine the winner. Voting will end at 9 p.m. Feb. 16. Registered users may vote once every 24 hours.

    Willowbrook

    Liz Nocek

    Liz Nocek is a four year varsity member of the Willowbrook Girls Gymnastics Team. She has been captain of the team the last two seasons. Her recent all around total of 34.25 earned her a 4th place finish in the twelve team Evanston Invite and in the West Suburban Gold Conference she was the all around winner in dual meets with Addison Trail, Leyden & Morton High Schools. Liz was recently awarded the Michael Meyers Award at Hersey High School for her leadership and sportsmanship qualities. She has a GPA of 3.8 and has accepted an academic scholarship at Iowa State University where she plans on studying physical therapy.

    Sophomore Kateri Stone hit three straight three-pointers, and her 50th three-pointer of the season later in the game to help beat Loyola.

    Dave Cohn had 16 points, 5 assists and 4 steals in a win over Kankakee and in the Galesburg Tournament he had12 points and 5 rebounds in win over Galesburg and 21 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds against Bloomington to help the team win the tournament with a 5-0 record.
