Stevenson baseball beats Crystal Lake South 7-6

On a sunny spring break morning April 1, Stevenson's varsity baseball team narrowly beat Crystal Lake South 7-6 in the final innings.

The Patriots took an early lead, scoring 6 runs in the first two innings of the game, bringing the score to 6-0 going into the 3rd. However, the Gators answered back, scoring 6 unanswered runs in the next few innings. Going into the bottom of the 6th inning, the score was tied 6-6.

Patriots' senior Alex Daar hit the game winning single in the bottom of the 6th, pushing ahead junior Brandon Waters for the go ahead run. Senior pitcher Blake Fiedelman earned the win in relief, making the final score 7-6 Patriots.

The Patriots are currently 4-0-0 in the regular season, and are ranked 9th in the state according to Max Preps. The varsity team's next game is 4:30 p.m. April 6 at Libertyville High School.
