The following was taken from Arlington Heights Police records on Feb. 20.
Burglary
- Three handguns were stolen from a locked closet in a home on the 600 block of East Park Street between 11 a.m. and 1:19 p.m. Feb. 17. The rear door of the home was also forced open.
Theft
- Two feet of copper wire, extending from 96 lampposts and valued together at $300, was stolen from the Lexus auto dealership construction site, 1500 W. Dundee Road, between midnight Feb. 2 and 7 a.m. Feb. 15. The cost to repair the lampposts is about $9,000.
- A blue flash drive was stolen from a computer at the Arlington Heights Memorial Library, 500 N. Dunton Ave., at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 16. The owner had briefly stepped away.
- A cell phone and $500 cash were stolen from a purse in a shopping cart at the Jewel-Osco Vail Street Market, 122 N. Vail Ave., between 3:12 and 3:51 p.m. Feb. 18.
Criminal damage to vehicle
- The windshield of a white motor coach bus was broken by chunks of asphalt while parked at Garden Fresh Market, 600 E. Rand Road, between 1 a.m. Feb. 18 and 5:30 a.m. Feb. 20. The cost of the damage is unknown.
- The sides, hood and roof of a 2007 BMW 750 were dented and a vulgar message was scratched across the trunk while it was parked in an apartment lot on the 2400 block of South Goebbert Road between 10:30 p.m. Feb. 15 and 7:45 a.m. Feb. 16.
