Train to become a CNC operator through the QuickStart program

A NIMS Level 1 CNC Operator Training Course is being offered by Continuing Professional Development at the College of Lake County this fall.

This 10-week National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) Level 1 CNC (Computerized Numerical Controls) Operator training course, offered Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. beginning Sept. 27, provides the knowledge and skills required for entry-level employment. Credentials are awarded after satisfactory completion of both a theoretical exam and hands-on performance testing.

The QuickStart Program enables students to complete this career program in a very short time frame. Students will also learn job readiness skills such as resume development, online application and job search skills and individual career coaching. The cost is $3,199, which includes course fee, instructional materials, exam fees and job readiness training.
