Light of Christ: The Rev Sharon Rogers preaches the final sermon in the sermon series called “Jesus Victories “at the 5:00 p.m. service on Saturday with the sermon title being Victory: Confusion to Calling based on the Bible passage from Matthew 28:16-20. The Rev Kendall Koenig and a special guest pastor will be the preachers in the worship services for the Sunday services. The confirmation service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Hanson Road location. Weekend worship times at 100 Hanson Road in Algonquin are as follows: Saturday at 5:00 p.m. a blended service and on Sunday at 8:30 a.m. a contemporary service followed by a blended service at 10:00 a.m. At 10:45 a.m. a contemporary service at Westfield School at 2100 Sleepy Hollow Road in Algonquin. Please take note on the weekend of May 26 and 27 the new summer hours will be starting with the following schedule: there will be no services at Westfield School; all services will be at 100 Hanson Road. The Saturday service at 5:00 p.m. will be a blended service, and on Sunday at 9:00 a.m. there will be a blended service; followed by a contemporary service at 10:30 a.m. The Westfield second site will re-open in mid August. Members are encouraged to attend the May 29th 7:00 p.m. Town Hall meeting as there will be an opportunity for discussion and to receive updates on the church. Light of Christ in cooperation with other churches in McHenry County is gathering food items for the local food bank; everyone is encouraged to bring the needed items to church and they will be delivered to the food bank this weekend. “Amazing Wonders” Vacation Bible School date is June 18 to 22 for ages 4 thru 6th grade.
