Authorities are searching for two men who reportedly abandoned their vehicle, which contained more than 700 grams of methamphetamine, at an Algonquin shopping center last week.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office’s K-9 Unit was on routine patrol Feb. 2 and observed a suspicious vehicle driving in the area of County Line and Randall roads, according to a press release. The deputy followed the vehicle into a shopping center parking lot, where two men reportedly abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.
Officers were unable to locate the two men, but a search of the vehicle yielded a bag of methamphetamine worth about $25,000.
The investigation is ongoing.
