Waubonsie basketball player recognized
Johnson stands with Don Davis, Honda general manager, and Mike Rogowski, Waubonsie athletic director.

Jelani Johnson, a senior and star player on Waubonie Valley High School's basketball team, was recognized during the halftime of a Feb. 27 home game as Triblocal's sports person of the month.

Johnson was awarded $500 from Valley Honda of Naperville, money that is to be used by the school, as well as a plaque. He will continue his basketball career at Western Illinois next year.
