Church donates thousands to help end homelessness in DuPage County
Sarah Brachle of Habitat and Neal Shakel of Thrivent Reps receive check from Trinity's Pastor Dan Grissom

Spend less, give more. This may sound impossible but it was the theme for the Home for the Holidays 2009 Christmas season at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lisle. Individuals and families were encouraged to give presence to one another instead of presents. They were also given an opportunity to do something powerful with the money saved.

The results were amazing! Trinity Lutheran Church collected over $57,000 for DuPage Habitat for Humanity. In partnership with Thrivent Financial they will build 3 homes in DuPage County and 3 more in the Dominican Republic.

Many families have shared stirring testimonies of the very positive impact of spending time together without the distraction of gift-giving. This was the second consecutive year that Trinity has supported this focus. At Christmas 2008 they raised $80,000 to build fresh water wells in Liberia, West Africa.

Trinity is located at 1101 Kimberly Way in Lisle, IL. We are a growing Christian church dedicated to making an impact in our community.
